If you’re migrating out of Freshdesk, we’ve launched just the thing for you. Introducing a new, simplified migration interface, which makes it easier to move your existing support data from Freshdesk to Desk365 in just a few clicks. This relese, we’ve also introduced custom views for Assets and Software, along with enhanced column customization, giving you greater flexibility to organize, filter, and access the information you need.
Let’s take a closer look at everything that’s new.
Microsoft Intune Integration is now publicly available
We’re excited to announce that Microsoft Intune Integration has moved from Private Beta to Public Beta in Desk365.
Previously available as a Private Beta, customers had to contact the Desk365 team to enable and configure the integration. With this release, you can now set up the Microsoft Intune integration yourself directly from Desk365, without needing assistance from our team.
With the integration, you can:
- Automatically sync laptops, mobile devices, or both from Microsoft Intune into Desk365.
- Schedule weekly syncs or trigger a manual sync whenever needed.
- Map Intune devices to your existing Asset Types.
- Configure field mappings, including custom fields.
- Track every sync and download logs from the Sync History page.
This transition to Public Beta makes the integration more accessible, allowing you to get started with Microsoft Intune and Desk365 without contacting our team.
Create Custom Views for Assets and Software
Managing a growing inventory can make it difficult to quickly find the information you need. With this update, you can now create custom views in the Assets and Software List based on the criteria that matter to you.
Under Assets and Software List, you’ll find a dedicated Custom Views section. Create views using filters such as the asset/software type, status, location, vendor, managing group, and other available parameters. You can create these custom views to quickly access specific sets of assets or software based on the configured filter options.
Control access with role-based permissions
Custom views also support role-based access. By default, Admins and Managers can create shared custom views, while Agents do not have access. Access can be granted for custom roles as required.
Customize the columns in your asset views
The Select Columns option has been enhanced. You can now choose the asset and software fields you want to display and manage them in your preferred order. Fields resort to their respective types as a list of dropdowns, making it easier to find fields across different asset types.
Once created, a custom view filter criteria can be edited and saved either as a new view or to the same, except for the asset type ensuring that the view consistently displays the relevant set of fields related to assets.
Migrate data from Freshdesk to Desk365
Switching helpdesk platforms and migrating data doesn’t have to be complicated. With this release, we’re introducing Desk365’s new Migration feature, making it easier to move your existing support data from Freshdesk to Desk365 while preserving your essential information and minimizing manual effort.
Bring your Freshdesk data to Desk365
With the new migration feature, you can bring your important Freshdesk data into Desk365 without having to recreate everything manually. You can migrate key data such as
- Tickets
- Contacts
- Companies, and
- Knowledge Base Articles.
Migrate ticket information, including conversations, attachments, CC and BCC details, and custom fields, when you provide your Freshdesk API key.
Your Freshdesk fields are automatically mapped to the corresponding fields in Desk365, including compatible custom fields. You can review and modify the mappings as needed before starting the migration. Freshdesk dropdown values can also be mapped to their corresponding values in Desk365, ensuring that fields such as status, priority, ticket type, and agent assignment are carried over correctly.
Choose which modules to migrate and review everything before starting the import. The data and mappings are also validated before the migration begins, helping you identify any issues before your data is imported. Once everything looks good, start the migration and let the process handle the rest. It’s a simple way to move your existing support data and get your team up and running on Desk365.
Want to see exactly what you can migrate and how the process works? Our Freshdesk to Desk365 Migration guide covers the supported data, API requirements, field mapping, dropdown mapping, validation, and the complete migration process.
We’re starting with Freshdesk migration now and soon you’ll see similar options for migrating from other helpdesk platforms too.
We’re excited to bring these new capabilities to Desk365 and can’t wait for you to try them.
